How Much Water is One Inch of Rain?


With a cumulative total of 53.46 inches of rainfall, thus far, for the last two rain seasons in Downtown L.A. (2022-2023 and 2023-2024), this is now the second wettest two consecutive rain seasons for Downtown since 1879. The wettest consecutive two seasons were between 1888 and 1890 with a combined 54.12 inches. This now places the last two seaons at two-thirds of an inch behind the wettest two consecutive years on record.
