City Government Officials

Named by James de Barth Shorb in 1878 where he built his home. The name came from his birthplace in Maryland that had been named after the tiny European republic. The land was received from his father-in-law Don Benito Wilson. In 1903, Henry Huntington purchased the property and retained the name for his estate.
