The 2025 World Series is the fourth time the Dodgers appeared in consecutive World Series (as in 1977 & 1978; 1965 & 1966; 1955 & 1956). The 2025 Series ended with the Dodgers' first ever consecutive World Series title, the first MLB consecutive title in 25 years. Incidentally, their 2025 opponents, the Toronto Blue Jays, won consecutive World Series titles in 1992 and 1993. Other past consecutive titles:
- N.Y. Yankees, 6 consecutive WS titles, including 3 straight in 1998-2000, 5 straight in 1949-1953 and 4 straight in 1936-1939
- Cincinnati Reds, 2 straight WS titles, 1975 & 1976
- Oakland Athletics, 3 straight WS titles, 1972-1974
- N.Y. Giants (now San Francisco), 2 straight WS titles, 1921 & 1922
- Boston Red Sox, 2 straight WS titles, 1915 & 1916
- Philadelphia Athletics (now Oakland), 2 straight WS titles, 1910 & 1911
- Chicago Cubs, 2 straight WS titles, 1907 & 1908

The Dodgers won at least three consecutive games in the World Series five times (2024, 1981, 1965, 1959, 1955). Prior to 2024, however, the Dodgers never managed to win the first three consecutive games in the Series (they did manage to lose the first three games in a row twice, in 1966 and 1963 and, indeed, lost both those Series). The 2024 World Series was the first in which the Dodgers won the first three games in the Series.
In Game 1 of the 2024 World Series, Dodger Freddie Freeman, with his team trailing the Yankess by one run and working against two outs in the 10th inning, delivered the first game-ending walk-off grand slam in World Series history.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, all six games of the 2020 World Series, between the Dodgers and the Tampa bay Rays, were played at a neutral site at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Seating for the event was limited to only a quarter of that ballpark's capacity. It was the first World Series at a neutral site and first, since 1944, to be played all in only one ballpark.
Game 3 of the 2018 World Series, between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox at Dodger Stadium, on October 26-27, held the record for the most extra innings (nine) and longest time (7 hours, 20 minutes) of any World Series game. The game went on for a gruelling 18 innings, until the Dodger's Maxwell "Munce" Muncy hit a home run in the bottom of the inning, winning the game for Los Angeles, 3-2. Incidentally, game 2 of the 1916 World Series, also between the Dodgers and the Red Sox, tied with two other World Series games (2005, 2015) for the last record number of World Series extra innings in a single game (five). That game had a different outcome in which the Red Sox defeated the Dodgers 2-1 after 14 innings.
Seven years after the 2018 record-setting game, Game 3 of the 2025 World Series, between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium, on October 27, matched the 18-inning record for the most extra innings (nine) of any World Series game. The 2025 game, however, lasted less time at 6 hours and 39 minutes. The game ended when the Dodger's Freddie Freeman hit a home run in the bottom of the inning, winning the game for Los Angeles, 6-5. Incidentally, Max Muncy, the home run hitter ending the 2018 18-inning game, was still batting for the Dodgers in the 2025 18-inning game.
Dodgers catcher Will Smith played as part of six consecutive World Series championships: 2025 Dodgers (catcher), 2024 Dodgers (catcher), 2023 Texas Rangers (pitcher), 2022 Houston Astros (pitcher), 2021 Atlanta Braves (pitcher), 2020 Dodgers (catcher).
