With 3.5 million adherents in 2010, Los Angeles County is home to the largest Catholic population in the United States. Cook County, Illinois (home of Chicago), is home to the second largest Catholic population in the nation with 1.9 million adherents.


With more than 91,000 adherents in 2010, Los Angeles County is also home to the largest concentration of Buddhists in the United States.
