In 2021, Los Angeles County individual taxpayers paid $80.1 billion in federal income taxes. That was more revenue collected than from any other U.S. county. In fact, except for the states of California, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois and New Jersey, Angelenos pay more federal income taxes than all taxpayers in entire U.S. states.
