The newest courthouse in Los Angeles County is the $340-million Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse in Long Beach. It opened in 2013. It is 65% larger than the old courthouse (built in 1959) that was located only a block away at 415 West Ocean Boulevard. The old courthouse, torn down in 2016, was considered by state officials to be one of the most outdated in California.
