Glenn Anderson
Former California U.S. Congressman, South Bay.
Namesake of L.A. County's Newest Freeway, Interstate 105 (Century Freeway).

Los Angeles County's newest freeway, the Glenn Anderson Freeway, is named for Glenn Malcolm Anderson (1913-1994) who represented the South Bay in the U.S. Congress for eight terms (1968-1984) and also served as Mayor of Hawthorne (1940-?) and Lieutenant Governor of California (1958-1966). Anderson rose in Congress to become Chairman of the House Public Works and Transportation Committee. In this position, he fought for and won funds to build the I-105.  The 17.3 mile freeway was completed in 1993 at a cost of $2.2 billion.
