Masks for Los Angeles County Hospitals
and Other Needed Medical Supplies

Needed Medical Supplies

Disinfecting wipes, gloves, surgical masks, N95 masks and goggles. These are among items that are in increasing short supply. Los Angeles Almanac Photo.

As the number of coronavirus COVID-19 cases increase daily in Los Angeles County, our local hospitals are soon facing serious shortgages of protective medical equipment and supplies vital to protecting both health care workers (and, by extention, their families) and patients. These items include N95 masks, surgical masks, face shields, safety goggles, gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, disposible gowns and botties. Perhaps, as part your own personal emergency stash, you have some of these items that you could donate to local hospitals.

There are 93 general medical care hospitals in Los Angeles County, 74 with emergency medical departments. If you can donate any spare medical supplies to hospitals in your community, please reach out to them and ask if they can use your donation and how they would like to receive it. Many will even be happy to receive items in opened packages, but, do ask about that up front. If the hospital thanks you but tells you that they have what they need, try calling again in a few days. Their situation can change.

We list below a small number of Los Angeles County hospitals, most listed in the website Find the Masks. This website has already been calling for donations for hospitals nationwide. If you have information for other Los Angeles County hospitals to add to this list, please let us know. Include all the following:

  1. Name of hospital
  2. Address and city (must be within Los Angeles County)
  3. Instructions/contact for how they are willing to receive donations (who and how to contact, curbside pickup?, receive by mail, etc.)
  4. Items accepted (list each item, for example, N95 masks, Surgical masks, Face shields, Disposable booties, Safety goggles, Gloves, Gowns, Hand sanitizer, Disinfecting wipes, Thermometers, Etc.)
  5. Do they accept open Packages? (Y/N)
