The William Andrews Clark Memorial Library was donated in 1934 to UCLA by Williams Andrews Clark Jr., founder of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. He wanted to ensure that the public would have access to his holdings. This 90,000 volume collection contains, among other great works, the largest collection of works by and about Oscar Wilde. UCLA ranks 9th for holdings in the nation among university libraries. USC ranks 38th.
